DPD driver forced to sprint away mid-delivery after customer spots he’s forgotten to put his van’s handbrake on

THIS is the hilarious moment a DPD driver is forced to sprint away mid-delivery after a customer noticed he’d forgotten to put his van’s handbrake on.

The deliveryman’s blunder was caught on a doorbell camera whilst delivering to a customer named Stacey in London.

Totally oblivious to the vehicle slowly rolling away behind him, the bloke is kindly alerted to the fact by Stacey, before hilariously dropping the parcel and racing off to catch his van.

The footage begins with the deliveryman standing at the doorstep, engrossed in his phone as he fills out details of the delivery.

In the background his rental van from Enterprise Rent-a-Car, parked at the side of the road, can be seen very slowly rolling off to the left of the screen.

The homeowner then answers the door with a cheery greeting before the bloke confirms he is at the right house, asking: “Stacey, yeah?”

As the man is finalising the delivery, Stacey takes notice of the runaway vehicle in the background, hilariously commenting: “Oh, your van’s moving.”

The man then glances up at her for a split second in confusion, before spinning round and seeing the van rolling away from him.

He panics and drops the white parcel, tearing away with a burst of speed across Stacey’s lawn in an attempt to save the vehicle.

The footage was shared to social media yesterday with the caption: “DPD driver forgets to leave his handbrake on.”

The footage has since gained dozens of likes and comments from social media users finding the driver’s quick reactions hilarious.

One said: “It’s the ‘Oh your vans moving’.”

Another added: “I bet he’s never ran so fast in his life.”

DPD has been contacted for comment.
